Using Adsense Channels

Adsense ChannelsGoogle Adsense allows publishers with the chance to see how much money their sites are earning or how much a particular page on their website is earning. To do this Adsense offer webmaster’s the chance to create channels. Channels are a way of identifying how much each website you have is earning. Channels break down the sites and show you individual stats for each site. Using channels is a good idea as you can find out which sites are performing better than others, and can improve the performance of your sites that aren’t earning you as much as others. Adsense offers you the chance to use two types of channels. URL Channels and Custom Channels. URL Channels

  • There is no need to add a channel id in the Adsense code
  • You can set-up a new URL channel inside your Adsense account for a domain and Google will automatically report to you the performance of every page inside that channel.

Custom Channels

  • Keep track of different Ads you have made
  • You add the channel id for a certain ad in the Adsense code
  • This means that each Ad with the channel id in will have a report generated for it so you can check each Ad’s performance

Google offers you a total of 200 channels. If you have a large number of websites, this means that you will have to use Ad Channels carefully. However, most publishers won’t use more than 100 channels.
