So you have written a blog now you want to %link2] with it well read on. When adding your first google AdSense advert to your blog there are two ways it can be done. The first which only works for blogger.com is to go to the layout tab of your blog and then click on monetize, follow the instructions and away you go.

You can also add further AdSense ads by clicking on layout again then go to page layout then click on add gadgets and AdSense will be half way down the list. Click on it then choose your options and away you go.

Googles policies are that you can only have three link ads and three text/picture ones.

The second way you can do it is as described in your AdSense help site.

Here’s the basic low down, go through options on AdSense to get ads follow the steps, copy and paste code which is generated. Don’t worry if you don’t get it first time you can retrieve the code in manage ads tab.

Now go to format-edit html then look down the text until you get to . If you look towards the bottom you will see just above Now paste your code somewhere in between the fields. Again you should limit it to a maximum of 3 different ads. Also this html will not have spaces between the writting and the <. wont let me post as it should look.

This is probably the best way since you have more control over them than if you use the blogger method.

You must create channels for your adverts to make them easily targetable.

Always try to find a balance between your link adverts and your text/picture ones .

So now you should have one complete blog with AdSense adverts on it right? Now time to get indexed. Getting indexed with google is quite simple just set up an account with Google Webmaster and follow the instructions.

Getting indexed with yahoo and/or msn is not quite so easy . Now to get indexed with Yahoo Right the easiest way is to add to adsense is to create a Rss feed on your blog and add it to your yahoo home page.

Firstly sign up for a yahoo account, next step is to set up a Rss feed on blogger, this is done by going to layout then gadgets. Right go down the list until you get to site feeds click on it.

You should have a screen which says URL now type in your blog address (for example http://ohdear whatcanthematterbe.blogspot.com/

right now add this to the end. feeds/posts/default?alt=rss. it should look like the Url below.

http://ohdear whatcanthematterbe.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss.

the next step (getting it on Yahoo) is so simple, just click on your Yahoo homepage-add content then type in your full web address including the feed part.

For more info on your feed url’s read the blogger help page and type in Rss feeds .

What is Google Adsense

Google Adsense is a unique program that can generate a lot of revenues over time if you are patient. Here is an overview of the basics of Google Adsense.

To understand the basics of Google Adsense, you first have to understand Google Adwords. Adwords is a program where people can bid per click to buy space on platforms Google supports with advertisements. This includes the ads you see on right column and the top of the results when you search on Google.

Adsense is the result of a crafty little idea wherein Google essentially wanted to maximize distribution of Adwords. With Adsense, Google took the unique approach of letting independent sites place certain types of Adwords advertisements on their pages. This type of advertising is known within the Adwords platform as contextual advertising and advertisers can opt out of it. Most do not.

The great thing about Google Adsense is it creates additional revenue sources for the sites. For instance, lets assume someone bids 60 cents in Adwords for the placement of their ads. The website then shows those ads through the Adsense program. When someone clicks on an ad on that site, Google charges the advertiser and shares the profit with the site in question. The exact amount that is shared is not disclosed by Google, but is known to reflect the quality of traffic, click through rates and several other aspects.

The Google Adsense program is incredibly simple to use. You sign up through Google Adsense program and, once approved, are able to select the format of ads you want to appear on the pages of your site. Google then immediately generates a java script, which you copy and paste into the html of your pages. You cannot change the java script code, but you can select any location on your page you want.

Once you have inserted the code and republished your site, it is now the time to sit back and watch. Google provides stats within your account area. You can see basic click and revenue information as well as monthly totals. Once you reach a minimum of $100 in revenues, Google will issue out a check to you. The check is issued more or less at the end of the month following the one in which you hit the magic $100 amount.

Obviously, there is more to Google Adsense if you want to make a full time business out of it, many people specially create and publish websites with the purpose of making money from google adsense advertising. Advance site creation and builder softwares have evolved including the latest Adsense FireSale Website Builder which allows users to easily create and manage massive amount of websites embeded with google adsense ads. There are even suppliers such as Niches in a Box that provides ready made adsense websites with contents that are ready to upload to your server and publish them as your own and make money out of the google adsense advertising in your websites.

By the way, you may be tempted to click the ads on your page. Do not! Google will ban you from the program.
