How to use Google Adsense on WordPress?

When i post the google adsense code in wordpress on the widgets text it doesn’t work.
I clicked save but why doesn’t it work? can anyone help me?

I know I need to build followers and have a lot of visitors to attract advertisers, but is it possible to put serious money-paying advertisers on my blogger.com page in other ways other than adsense and other widgets?

Advertising space on Yahoo Groups?

I have a large number of subscribers to my Yahoo Group, and I would like to sell advertising space. Right now all I've managed to do is put some plain text in the message footer. Is there any way to allow HTML adverts in my group messages, Google adsense, or something like that? How about customizing my group's home page with adsense, widgets or the like?
Thanks Arwen, but not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm not so much looking to promote the group itself – it's doing well enough by word of mouth. I want to sell advertising space on the group emails themselves, so that advertisers can have their messages sent to all the subscribers of my group along with each email.
Good answer, crazy_mom. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but apparently accurate… sort of. That quote you took from the abstract of the Yahoo TOS does not appear to be backed up in the full TOS document http://info.yahoo.com/legal/us/yahoo/utos/utos-173.html – there's nothing in there prohibiting use of Yahoo Groups for advertising. At any rate, I guess the abstract would represent the general attitude that Yahoo has w.r.t. advertising, so they probably haven't built any user-friendly way to include HTML in all emails. So if nobody else has any good ideas by the time this question expires, I'll award you the correct answer. ;)

Once people start a internet business, the key at that point is to drive traffic to there new site or affiliate link. The problem is that many people have no idea on how to get this traffic that they need if they want to experience Internet success. Targeted traffic is the best kind of traffic that anyone can get. This is when people are looking for something that you are selling and end up at your website. So as soon as you start online business, you need to start getting targeted traffic to your site.

For example:
Someone is looking for the best price on widgets, so they go to Google or Yahoo and type in widgets, then they have a choice of which websites to go to. If your site is in the top 3 of the search engine results there is a good chance that they may click on your site that sells widgets. That is the best type of targeted traffic that you can find.

The next best type of targeted traffic is to use Google or Yahoo and pay them to put contextual ads on the search engine results page. Then people may still click on your site and that is still really good targeted traffic. The problem is that it can be very costly getting traffic this way. And when you can expect about a 1% conversion which means that for every 100 visitors to your site you can expect 1 sale, you can almost expect to loss money everytime for this type of advertising.

The Next best type of traffic is traffic that you receive from other websites, be it that you have a link on someone else’s site and someone click’s on it or you have banners on sites or you even start to create your own webpages from squidoo or hubpages using them to drive traffic to your site. This type of advertising is great because it won’t cost you anything to start getting traffic to your site.

Lastly you can use traffic exchanges to get traffic to your site. This works because you view other peoples websites and in turn you earn credits to have your website shown to other people in the same traffic exchange. The only problem with this type of traffic is that instead of the 1% conversion that people really want to get, when using traffic exchanges you can expect about a .1 to .01% conversion rate. If you have the time on your hands its a great way to get lots of people to your site and start building your sites reputation and brandablity.
